Armen Grigoryan Highlights Unresolved Issues in Peace Agreement
There is no mention of a monitoring mission in the peace agreement, only a general formulation regarding the presence of third parties. This was stated by the Secretary of the Security Council, Armen Grigoryan, during a press briefing with journalists.
"This could also refer to the European Union, but there is no specific mention of an EU monitoring mission in the peace agreement," he said. Grigoryan noted that the 15 articles have been able to be agreed upon as a result of many years of work. "The last two still have not been resolved, but Armenia will continue to work towards finalizing these two articles as well. We are currently holding discussions, and when we are ready, we will send our response," he added.
"The approaches of Armenia and Azerbaijan regarding these two issues have yet to find agreement in the negotiation process. Both we and the Azerbaijani side have spoken publicly about this. One of the issues relates to the presence of third parties at the Armenia-Azerbaijan border, as well as the so-called end of the diplomatic war," he revealed.
When asked what Azerbaijan requires, Grigoryan responded, "This is not a question of demands; here, as often happens in negotiations, the approaches are different and have not found a solution up to this point."
