Kyiv Agrees to Trump's New Resource Deal

Ukraine has agreed to new terms of a rare metals deal with the United States after Washington dropped a demand for $500 billion in compensation, reports the Financial Times, citing Ukrainian officials.

“Kyiv has agreed to the terms of the mineral deal with Washington... The U.S. has relinquished its right to a potential income of $500 billion from resource sales,” the article states.

Moreover, it is reported that the final version of the agreement does not include any mention of “security guarantees” from the U.S. side.
