Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine Resumes Operations

The Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine has resumed operations. This was announced by Araik Margaryan, head of the company's Public Relations Department, in a conversation with Auroranews.am. "Agreement was reached about 1.5 hours ago. The employees have accepted the conditions we presented, and work has been restored," he stated.

According to our interlocutor, employees accepted the conditions that had already been published by the Combine. Below is the official statement posted on the ZPMC website:

"The management of ZPMC, acting as a guarantor for its employees, assumes the relevant obligations and publishes this statement, confirming that the changes will be implemented within the established deadlines.

1. Salary Policy
   Work on the development of the salary revision system began in September 2024. This system will include the consideration of work experience, qualifications, classifications, and the increase of tariff rates. As a result of the already launched process, the total salary fund will increase by an average of 20%. The management will implement the new salary system in the main production areas within one month after the resumption of production.
2. Medical Insurance
   Taking into account the numerous written and oral complaints received regarding medical insurance, the management of ZPMC will announce an open competition on February 17 and will select a new insurance company that will provide quality services in accordance with the needs of employees.
3. Improvement of Working Conditions
   In recent years, ZPMC has been conducting a technical audit of existing systems and projects. The audit was completed in December 2024, after which the process of designing and acquiring new systems began. The company guarantees that modern, high-efficiency ventilation and aspiration systems will be installed in the main production areas no later than the end of 2025.
