Blizzard, Snow: Road Conditions Update

The Berd-Chambarak, Tashir-Dashtadem, and Tashir-Katnarat highways are closed to all vehicles, according to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia.

It is also reported that the roads leading from the 'Amberd' high mountain meteorological station in the Aragatsotn region to the Kary Lake and the Amberd fortress are closed.

The road section known as 'Zanger' from the Jermuk junction, the road leading to Vayots Dzor from the Yerevakh village turn, as well as the Vardenyats pass (M-10) are closed for trucks and truck trailers.

In addition, roads in the Syunik region are impassable for all vehicles, while black ice is present in some areas of the roads of Aragatsotn, Gegharkunik, and Syunik regions.

The Ministry also reports that snow is falling in Gegharkunik (except for the city of Sevan) and in the Talin area, while a blizzard is occurring in the Aragats region.

The Ministry warns that drivers must travel exclusively with winter tires.
