U.S. President Donald Trump has congratulated Germany's conservatives on their election victory.

“It seems that the conservative party of Germany has won a very large and long-awaited election. The people of Germany were already fatigued by the political discourse lacking common sense. This particularly relates to the energy and immigration sectors, which have dominated the country for many years,” Trump said.
