Number of Missing Persons Due to the 2020-2023 Conflict: ICRC

During 2024, we received nearly 1,290 calls and visits to our offices in Yerevan and Goris concerning family separations resulting from escalations of the conflict. This was stated by the ICRC.

“Sixty-two families have approached us with requests to clarify the fate of their missing relatives and have opened search requests. According to applications received from families, 429 individuals are still considered missing due to the escalations of the conflict from 2020 to 2023. We continue to work with relevant authorities to facilitate the search and identification process and to provide answers to families' pressing questions,” the statement read.

“A total of 557 oral, audiovisual, and written communications have been exchanged between detainees related to the conflict and their families. Furthermore, the ICRC regularly visits incarcerated individuals to assess the conditions of detention and their treatment, as well as to assist in maintaining their connections with relatives. Three persons have been transferred from Artsakh to Armenia with our support,” it added.
