Blizzard and Heavy Snow: What Is Happening on Armenia's Roads

As of 8:05 AM on February 20, snowfall is occurring in the regions of Abovyan, Hrazdan, Sevan, Dilijan, Ijevan, Noyemberyan, Chambarak, Berd, Aparan, Aragats, Spitak, Vanadzor, Stepanavan, Tumanyan, Ashtarak, Talin, Ani, Artik, Akhuryan, Amasia, Ashotzk, Ararat, Yeghegnadzor, Vayk, Jermuk, Sisian, Goris, Kapan, and Meghri. This information was reported by the Road Department.

The roads from the Jermuk intersection to Kapan are closed to heavy and trailer transport vehicles. The Voskepar-Jujivan road section is also closed to trailer transport vehicles. The Vardenyats Pass is closed to trailer vehicles, while other vehicles find it difficult to pass.

There is a blizzard on the roads in the regions of Ashotzk and Amasia, specifically on the Horom-Artik-Mets Mantash and Kuchak-Mirak road sections. Other interstate and national roads are open.

Road construction workers are conducting snow removal and salt-sand treatment on the roads.
