Trump on Russian-American Negotiations
U.S. President Donald Trump praised the Russian-American negotiations that took place in Riyadh as very positive. The U.S. leader stated that his confidence in resolving the situation in Ukraine has been strengthened.
He was asked to comment on the meeting in Saudi Arabia and whether he felt more confident about reaching a deal for resolving the Ukrainian crisis after the negotiations. “I am much more confident; they were [the negotiations] very good,” he told reporters after signing his new executive orders.
The signing occurred at the Mar-a-Lago estate, located near West Palm Beach, Florida.
“Russia wants to do something; they want to stop the wild barbarism,” Trump added. He compared the tragedy of military operations in Ukraine to the Battle of Gettysburg, the bloodiest battle of the American Civil War that took place in early July 1863.
