Venezuela Offers the U.S. to Abandon Confrontation
The Venezuelan government has proposed that the United States abandon confrontation and vehemently denies the accusations made by Adm. Elwin Holsey, head of the U.S. Southern Command, against the Bolivarian Republic. This was stated in a government communiqué posted on the telegram channel of Venezuelan Foreign Minister Ivan Gil Pinto.
“The Bolivarian government reaffirms its commitment to peace, stability, and multipolar peace, and calls on the political circles in the U.S. to abandon confrontation rhetoric and respect the self-determination of peoples,” the communiqué emphasizes.
The Venezuelan government categorically rejects the false and reckless statements made by Elwin Holsey during a recent speech in the U.S. Senate. The communiqué stresses that the accusations against Venezuela regarding “drug trafficking, corruption, and destabilization” are nothing but fake news that has already been proven false.
The Venezuelan government's statement also notes that the extreme right Venezuelan opposition has exploited the “false narrative” of former President Joe Biden's administration to “steal millions of dollars from donations intended for U.S. citizens.”
