Donald Trump is prepared to occupy the Gaza Strip, evict its residents to places like Egypt, and subsequently engage in the economic development of the areas destroyed by Israel. This process is expected to take 15 years. According to him, "the potential of the Gaza Strip is incredible." The Mediterranean region is fully capable of becoming the "Riviera of the Middle East." It is not ruled out that American troops may be deployed there.

This idea was expressed by the US President during his visit to Tel Aviv, where his proposal was well received. Overall, Benjamin Netanyahu emphasized that Trump is Israel’s best friend among all who have ever led the US.

Hamas, understandably, is outraged. The organization's official representative, Sami Abu Zuhri, described the President's ideas as "nonsense." He stated, "There is no alternative for the residents of the Gaza Strip other than to leave it." This is seen as a recipe for creating chaos and tension, emphasized Abu Zuhri. Hamas also reminded that Gaza is not a general area that any party can control, but rather "part of occupied Palestinian land." Hence, any decision should be based on "the cessation of occupation and the preservation of the rights of the Palestinian people." Makhmud Al-Habash, an advisor to the Palestinian leader, declared, "Gaza is not land that Trump can talk about in such a manner." He believes this implies war crimes, ethnic cleansing, and genocide.

There has also been considerable confusion within the Republican Party, reports Politico. "Let’s see what our Arab friends have to say about that. I think most residents of South Carolina would not be pleased to send Americans to the Gaza Strip. I think this could be problematic," stated Senator Lindsey Graham from South Carolina. Congressman John Hoeven from North Dakota suggested that Trump is attempting to negotiate in this way. Missouri Senator Josh Hawley would prefer that US funds and resources "be spent in the United States rather than in Gaza."
