Iran Warns Against Expecting Satan to Cease Sanctions: Commentary on the US

Aboulfazl Zohravand, a member of the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, has stated that any potential negotiations between Iran and the US would lead to worse consequences than the initial agreement regarding the nuclear program.

In an interview with Dideban Iran, he emphasized that years of experience show that Iran’s active regional and international policy, based on the principles of the Islamic Revolution, the Quran, and military exercises, inevitably leads to increased pressure from sanctions.

“We should not expect that the great Satan (the US) will cease its sanctions against us. Those who go to fight against that enemy must be prepared for pressures and restrictions,” remarked the parliamentarian.

Zohravand added that currently representatives of the Iranian government are attempting to initiate negotiations with the US while exerting pressure domestically. According to him, the authorities aim to present economic issues and social difficulties as a justification for obtaining permission from the Supreme Leader to negotiate.

“They want the country’s leadership to agree to negotiations by using the economic situation as leverage,” Aboulfazl Zohravand concluded.
