Trump Warns India

U.S. President Donald Trump has met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Although Trump referred to Modi as "my great friend," he simultaneously warned that India would not escape higher tariffs that he has begun implementing against trade partners worldwide.

"As much as India imposes tariffs, we will impose them on them. Therefore, quite frankly, it doesn’t matter to us anymore how much they charge," Trump stated during a joint press conference with Modi.

Trump spoke about the necessity of reducing the U.S. trade deficit with India.
