American Javelin and Stryker to be Manufactured in India
New Delhi and Washington will make new defense purchases in 2025 and organize joint production of American Javelin anti-tank missile systems and Stryker armored vehicles within Indian territory. This is stated in a joint statement following negotiations between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and U.S. President Donald Trump in Washington, reports TASS.
The document notes that the leaders of the two countries have agreed to expand military sales and joint production with India. "They announced plans to make new purchases this year and to jointly produce Javelin anti-tank missiles and Stryker armored vehicles in India," the statement says.
Additionally, the parties "expect to finalize the acquisition of six additional P-8I maritime surveillance aircraft to enhance India's maritime surveillance capabilities in the Indian Ocean region." Taking into account that India is a key defense partner of the U.S., New Delhi and Washington also agreed to review the existing conditions for arms transfers between the two countries.
