Zelensky Reveals Number of Peacekeepers Needed for Peacekeeping
Ukraine will need 100,000 peacekeepers to maintain peace between Ukraine and Russia. Ukrainian military officials have already prepared a map for allies, as announced by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during a visit to the Khmelnytskyi nuclear power plant, according to RBK-Ukraine.
President Zelensky emphasized that establishing a ceasefire is impossible without security guarantees. These security guarantees could include Ukraine's accession to NATO, the transfer of weapons, nuclear arms, or a certain package of deterrence measures.
“Otherwise, we will have to build ‘NATO in Ukraine.’ At that point, we will need arms supplies as well as a troop presence from Europeans and Americans,” Zelensky remarked.
“The troop presence is not about 5,000 to 7,000; I have instructed our military to calculate and show the points. We have outlined a map; if something happens, we are prepared, and I can discuss this in Munich. But it is not very open. We need 100,000 people there, this is not about 5,000,” the Ukrainian President stated.
