Clarification: Armenia Not Marked on Regional Map in Exhibition in Rome

Information has circulated on social media regarding a map displayed in an exhibition located on the second floor of the Colosseum in Rome, which does not include Armenia among the countries of the region. According to reports, the map is positioned near the entrance of the exhibition titled Göbeklitepe. L’enigma di un luogo sacro (Göbeklitepe. The Enigma of a Sacred Place).

The archaeological park's website states that the exhibition is organized in collaboration with the Colosseum Archaeological Park, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey, and the Turkish Embassy in Rome.

In this regard, Armenpress contacted Ani Badalyan, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, to seek clarification. She reported that upon learning about the exhibition, the Armenian Embassy in Rome raised the issue with the relevant Italian authorities and the organizers, and a positive response was received to resolve the matter. “At this moment, Armenia is reflected on the map,” Badalyan noted.
