Individual Accused of Fraudulent Loan Application and Theft

On February 6, information was received at the Regional Department of Criminal Investigation of Vayots Dzor that a 25-year-old resident of Malishka village had committed a computer theft. This was reported by the Police of the Republic of Armenia.

Through investigative measures, it was revealed that he had previously worked for a company engaged in the sale and installation of solar power plants, and had access to the personal details of the company’s clients. After being laid off, in December 2024 and January 2025, under the false pretext of providing maintenance services, he visited the homes of five villagers, took photographs of their faces, and subsequently opened mobile wallet applications in their names and applied for loans, stealing a total of 1,860,000 AMD.

The 25-year-old was summoned to the regional department and confessed to the crime. The documents prepared have been sent to the regional investigative department of Vayots Dzor.
