Drunk, Inadequate Speech: Saro Lalayan's Wife on Her Husband's Actions

News circulated yesterday that Saro Lalayan, a citizen of the Republic of Armenia and resident of the Nor Nork administrative district in Yerevan, was denied a social card from the Migration and Citizenship Department of the Nor Nork Division for what was described as an unprecedented reason: that there was a depiction of Mount Ararat (the two Masis) on his passport signature. Hours later, the Ministry of Internal Affairs clarified that no such citizen had approached the passport division.

In an interview with 'Hraparak', Lalayan's wife stated that her husband's account was false, claiming that he was drunk and in an inadequate state. She remarked, 'The man has mental disturbances, he was drunk, and spoke inadequately; he didn't understand what he was saying.'

When asked about the media's report indicating that he was denied the documents due to the signature depicting Mount Ararat, while the Ministry of Internal Affairs has refuted this, she responded, 'That's a lie; he had no problem at all,' declared Lalayan's wife.

It is worth noting that the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that no person by the name Saro Lalayan was served in that division, and the citizen's claims do not correspond to reality. 'Let us also point out that the 8th window of the Migration and Citizenship Service, which the citizen claims to have approached, serves forcibly displaced persons from Artsakh; therefore, the citizen could not have been served at that window. Staff from the Ministry's Internal Security and Anti-Corruption Department immediately contacted the citizen, during which the citizen provided contradictory information, not specifying the exact date and time of their visit to that division,' the Ministry reported.
