Tragic Car Accident on the North-South Highway: One Dead and Several Injured
On February 5 at 20:36, a call was received at the National Center for Crisis Management reporting an accident on the North-South highway with casualties. Rescue teams were dispatched from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, comprising two fire-rescue units from Yerevan.
It was revealed that two vehicles, a Mercedes-Benz driven by L. E. and a BMW driven by G. G., collided in a non-operational section of the North-South highway. The driver of the BMW was found to be dead on the scene.
Rescuers extricated the driver of the Mercedes-Benz and a passenger, S. E., from their vehicle and brought them to an ambulance. Meanwhile, G. G.'s body was taken to a funeral transport vehicle. The injured were hospitalized at a medical center.
Rescue teams also disabled the vehicles involved in the accident.
