Ukraine Rejects U.S. Proposal
The advisor to the President of Ukraine, Dmytro Litvin, has rejected the proposal of the U.S. Special Representative Keith Kellogg regarding conducting elections in the country. Kyiv has called on Washington to adopt a "deeper approach."
On Sunday, the Ukrainian official posted on the social media platform X, addressing Kellogg’s interview with Reuters: "We have not seen the full interview with Mr. Kellogg, only a few quotes about elections, so it is difficult to fully assess his position. However, if his plan is limited to just a ceasefire and elections, then it is a failed plan. Putin cannot be intimidated by just these two points. Moscow continues to ramp up missile and ammunition production and is finding new ways to circumvent sanctions and generate income from oil. It is clear that these weapons are not being created to respect democratic neighbors. The military alliance between Russia and North Korea also does not contribute to maintaining the ceasefire."
"Therefore, we would prefer to see a more in-depth approach from our key partners’ officials. At the same time, we recall that President Trump had deeply and thoughtfully analyzed the situation during meetings with President Zelensky and pointed out what could actually pressure Putin. For this reason, it is important to quickly move to work on a specific plan between teams to cease the war and ensure a sustainable peace."
