The head of Turkey's diplomatic mission Hakan Fidan discussed the situation in Syria and regional issues with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov over the phone. This information was reported to TASS by a source from Turkey's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“On January 31, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan had a phone conversation with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. Regional developments and the situation in Syria were discussed. The support of both countries for Syria's political unity was emphasized. The importance of an inclusive political transition process in Syria was noted,” said the interlocutor.
