Historic Minimum of Official Vehicles to Be Recorded: Pashinyan
The government today discussed a draft resolution regarding the withdrawal of vehicles associated with state bodies and the transfer of these assets to the State Property Management Committee. During the discussion, Prime Minister Pashinyan addressed the Chairman of the State Property Management Committee, inquiring about the fate of these vehicles.
“After the acceptance and transfer, these vehicles will be retained by us. Most of them will naturally be sold, while some newer ones will be necessary to replace older vehicles; we will replace them with these new cars. However, the majority will definitely be sold through an auction,” said Arnak Avetisyan.
“If I understand correctly, we currently have reduced official vehicles, but this decision will establish a historic minimum for official vehicles in Armenia, meaning I assume there have not been fewer official cars recorded in our country's history. This is significant in two respects: it encourages representatives of governing bodies to engage more with the people and also makes attempts to enhance the efficiency of budgetary expenditures. Of course, this is also an issue where we need to monitor the process and see what mechanisms are available to improve efficiency,” emphasized Pashinyan.
