US Calls for Increase in Number of Migrants Arrested Daily
The administration of US President Donald Trump has instructed the Customs and Border Protection Agency to multiply the number of individuals arrested for violating immigration laws, aiming to raise the figure to several hundred to 1,200–1,500 people in a single day. This was reported by The Washington Post, citing its own sources.
According to agency data, representatives of the new administration have held a briefing for the agency's top leadership and conveyed information that 'the president is frustrated with the results of the mass deportation campaign.'
Four sources within the publication indicated that the service's regional units are now required to carry out at least 75 arrests per day. Moreover, leaders are threatened with penalties for failing to meet this requirement.
