What Happens Next, We Will Understand: Mirzoyan

At the start of the process of joining the EU, no specific timeline or mechanism is being discussed. This was stated today by Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan during a joint press conference with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

He emphasized that the bill is a public document. Non-parliamentary political forces have collected the necessary 60,000 signatures, and the initiative has mechanically transformed into a bill. It is now set to be discussed in parliament.

“The government has approved the bill. It is assumed that the ruling majority will vote in favor, and that is all. What happens next, we will understand. This bill does not imply anything else,” said Mirzoyan.

The Armenian Foreign Minister noted that he cannot speculate about possible contradictions with the EAEU if Armenia joins the EU. According to him, such issues will be discussed if any contradictions arise.
