Syria Ready to Return to Arab League, Minister Says

Syria's Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shabani announced on Saturday that he is eagerly awaiting Syria's return to the Arab League (AL), as the country's new authorities seek to reclaim their place in the regional political landscape, Reuters reported.

Al-Shabani made the statement during a joint press conference in Damascus with Hosam Zaki, the Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League. Zaki, for his part, stated that the Arab League is working with member countries to increase Syria's participation.
