Grigor Iskandaryan Sues Tigran Avinyan's Father
Grigor Iskandaryan, a member of the Yerevan City Council from the "Mother Armenia" faction, has filed a lawsuit against Tigran Avinyan's father, Armen Avinyan, for his statement referring to "Opel cars with loud sounds." He announced this on his Facebook page.
The council member has submitted a claim to the Yerevan City Court of First Instance, demanding a compensation of 500,000 AMD for defamation. "I have sued Tigran Avinyan's father for his statement regarding 'Opel cars with loud sounds,' asking for 500,000 AMD as compensation for defamation. This amount is very symbolic. As is known, Avinyan’s father believes that this should be the fee for parking spaces so that the ‘loud cars’ do not disturb his peace," he wrote.
Iskandaryan also owns an Opel and has called on other Opel drivers to file similar claims. Let's recall that Armen Avinyan responded to a journalist's question on December 26, 2024, stating that he disagrees with the current prices of red lines and added that even 160,000 AMD is too little, asserting that parking fees in the center should be 500,000 AMD. It should be noted that Avinyan has addressed his father's controversial statement.
