What Did Ararat Mirzoyan and Antony Blinken Discuss
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, met with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken in Washington. This was reported by the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The meeting followed the signing of the Charter of Strategic Partnership between the Republic of Armenia and the United States of America.
The interlocutors emphasized the importance of establishing Strategic Partnership between the two countries as a historic milestone for deepening relations and ensuring new joint achievements.
Ararat Mirzoyan and Antony Blinken discussed agenda items aimed at further deepening cooperation between Armenia and the United States, ongoing work, and future possible steps. “The signing of the Charter of Strategic Partnership between Armenia and the USA is the result of dynamic cooperation and mutual strong commitment between the two countries in recent years,” noted the minister.
Ararat Mirzoyan expressed gratitude to Antony Blinken for his contribution to the signing of the Charter and strengthening bilateral cooperation between Armenia and the USA, as well as for the support provided to Armenia.
The Armenian Foreign Minister and the U.S. Secretary of State addressed sectoral cooperation initiatives and new opportunities arising from the establishment of strategic partnership between the two countries, aimed at strengthening Armenia’s resilience and economic development. The process of deepening Armenia-EU partnership was also discussed.
Ararat Mirzoyan and Antony Blinken exchanged views on regional developments. They addressed the security situation created in the South Caucasus, the possibilities for establishing peace, as well as existing challenges and efforts to effectively overcome them. Minister Mirzoyan emphasized that the regulation of relations with neighbors, full respect for territorial integrity and sovereignty, as well as the awareness of the importance of economic development, are the basis of the Armenian government’s vision and will continue to be the main guidelines for further steps.
