Videos have emerged online from Gaza, showing residents taking to the streets to celebrate the ceasefire established between Hamas and the Israel Defense Forces after a prolonged military escalation.

According to sources familiar with the negotiations, the parties managed to resolve the crisis that had arisen. As previously reported, the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that there are still some unresolved issues in the negotiations that the Israeli side hoped to resolve overnight.

Earlier, Kan public television reported that a meeting of the Israeli Security Cabinet is scheduled for the morning of January 16, during which the agreement is expected to be approved.
