Emergency Call Response Time Reduced to 4 Minutes, Minister Says
In 2024, a significant part of our work, which has national importance, is the establishment of the republican emergency medical service. In 2024, we are already serving the northern part of Armenia from the newly established operational management center in Gyumri. This was stated today by Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan during a year-end press conference.
"This year, the entire republic will already be included within this unified service framework. The renovation and equipping works for the new operational management center have already begun this year. I must say that this change has led to a reduction in response time. On average, we have reduced response time to four minutes in Gyumri and throughout the Shirak and Lori regions. The nature of the calls has also changed in terms of hospitalization; we are able to differentiate between hospitalization and actual emergency calls, which increases our effectiveness. The cost of the calls has also been reviewed, and within this framework, we have been able to replenish and technically equip our services, conduct retraining, and this year we will also review the salaries of emergency medical personnel. I believe this is extremely important for providing good services," said the minister.
