They Risk Their Lives: Kardashian on Wildfires
Kimmi Kardashian has expressed special gratitude to inmates who have been released to join the fight against the severe wildfires raging in Southern California. This was reported by the Daily Mail.
The 44-year-old star noted that over the past week she has witnessed her city burning. "During this time, I have seen and spoken with many firefighters who have been awake all night and are making every effort to save our city. Thank you to the Los Angeles County Fire Department for everything they do to preserve life, homes, and property," she wrote.
She highlighted that hundreds of inmates are fighting against five raging fires in Los Angeles, risking their lives to help save others and prove that they have changed. According to Kardashian, these individuals working around the clock in Pacific Palisades and the Eaton neighborhood are doing so without pay. "They are risking their lives and are not compensated. Some of them have lost their lives... for me, they are heroes," the star remarked.
She explained to her followers that since 1984, inmate firefighters have been paid $1 per hour for "putting their lives on the line." Kardashian has reached out to Governor Gavin Newsom, calling for an increase in the hourly wage for these individuals.
