Member of Parliament Mkher Sahakyan Dies in Car Accident

Member of the ‘Armenia’ parliamentary group Mkher Sahakyan has died in a car accident.

On January 13, around 16:41, a citizen called the Emergency Situations National Service 911 hotline and reported that they had seen a flipped car belonging to a friend on the 90th kilometer of the Yerevan-Meghri highway.

Employees from the police and rescue services immediately went to the scene. According to preliminary information, the vehicle contained MP Mkher Sahakyan, who has passed away,” wrote Narek Sargsyan, the press secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, on his Facebook page.

Parliament Speaker Alen Simonyan expressed condolences regarding the incident, stating: “I learned with great sadness about the death of National Assembly MP and member of the Armenia alliance, Mkher Sahakyan. I sincerely extend my deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. May God illuminate his soul.”
