There is no question of Armenia leaving the EEU on the government's agenda: Papoyan
Currently, there is no question of Armenia leaving the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) on the government’s agenda. This was stated by Armenia’s Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan during an annual press conference.
Earlier, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk noted that the European Union and the Eurasian Economic Union are incompatible, and the project of joining the EU leaves Armenia at a crossroads.
“The process of EU membership is a parallel agenda. Our task is not to discuss these agendas, but to enhance the resilience and competitiveness of our economy,” said Papoyan.
According to him, it does not matter whether Armenia is in the EU or the EEU; the main issue is that our economy must increase its competitiveness, productivity must grow, and we should produce the best possible goods.
