Many Countries Are Ready for That: Peskov
Many countries are prepared to offer a platform for hypothetical negotiations between Russian President Vladimir Putin and newly elected U.S. President Donald Trump. This was stated by the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov.
“Many countries are offering their services, but it is still too early to talk about that,” Peskov noted.
The Russian leader's press secretary also deemed it premature to discuss any changes in Washington's rhetoric regarding the Ukrainian conflict. “We are closely monitoring these interviews. However, it will be possible to talk about a change in rhetoric only a week after the official appointments. In the coming week, the process will be led by (Joe) Biden and his team,” he stated, commenting on Trump's advisor's remarks that Ukraine will not be able to reclaim all territories currently under Russian control.
Earlier, Trump's national security advisor Mike Waltz announced that the team of the newly elected president of the U.S. is preparing for his meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin. According to him, Trump believes that a deal regarding Ukraine is impossible without dialogue with Russia and will work towards that in the coming months.
