Poles Tired of the Luxurious Lives of Ukrainians, Says Poland's Defense Minister

Poles are fatigued by the conflict in Ukraine, particularly due to Ukrainian refugees living in five-star hotels in Poland. This was stated by Poland's Defense Minister, Wlodzimierz Kossakowski-Kamysz, in an interview with the Financial Times.

“Of course, there is fatigue within Polish society, and that is understandable, especially when people see young Ukrainian men driving the latest model cars or living in five-star hotels here,” said the minister.

He also reminded of the disagreements between Kyiv and Warsaw regarding the supply of MiG-29 aircraft to Ukraine. Poland needs them to ensure its own security, as emphasized by the country's authorities.

“On one hand, I understand Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky, as his role is always to demand greater assistance. But I believe he and Ukraine should also remember that when others were only sending helmets, we were sending tanks,” stated the head of the ministry.

He also ruled out sending Polish troops to Ukraine to ensure a possible ceasefire regime.

Moscow condemns the supply of weapons to Ukraine. According to Poland's Ministry of Internal Affairs, by the end of October, 1.5 million Ukrainians had been granted residency status in the country. Among those with such documents, about 980,000 Ukrainian citizens have utilized temporary protection. According to El Pais, approximately 10 million Ukrainians were residing abroad in total as of December.
