Death Toll Rises from Wildfires in Los Angeles

California Governor Gavin Newsom has ordered an investigation into reports of water shortages. The Los Angeles County coroner's office has confirmed the latest death toll, warning that the number may increase throughout the day. Of the 11 deaths, five have occurred as a result of the Palisades fire, while the remaining six are attributed to the Eton fire.

Officials state that search and rescue dogs are scouring the areas for bodies or survivors in the region. As of now, five of the deceased in Eton have been identified by their families.

The devastation caused by the wildfires is currently considered the most extensive in the city's modern history. The fire, which began on January 7, has engulfed the second-largest city in the United States, resulting in the destruction of 10,000 structures.

Approximately 150,000 residents in the Los Angeles area remain under evacuation orders. Authorities have noted that the area burned in Los Angeles exceeds double the size of Manhattan.

It should be noted that wildfires have been raging in California since January 7, marking one of the most destructive in the state's history. The rapid spread of the fires is due to strong winds and low humidity. The death toll had reached 10 as of yesterday.
