Simidian Comments on Physical Altercation Among CP Members
Haik Sarksyan, a member of the Civil Contract faction of the National Assembly of Armenia, and Tavush Governor Haik Galumyan spoke after a closed meeting of the CP initiative group, but no scuffle occurred. This was announced by the Minister of Environment, Hakob Simidian, during a press conference in response to a question from Sputnik Armenia.
“There was simply no incident; there were dozens of people present during the discussion. Perhaps two colleagues just spoke after the meeting. I personally did not witness any scuffle between Haik Galumyan and Haik Sarksyan. Maybe there was some conversation, and people saw it from the side, which created a different impression,” said the minister.
According to him, discussions on forest-related issues took place not only yesterday but also in the December meeting; yesterday's discussion was a continuation of that.
It should be noted that today ArmLur.am reported that Haik Sarksyan and Tavush Governor Haik Galumyan exchanged blows in the presence of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. The media outlet mentioned that the reason for the incident was the disgraceful environmental situation in Tavush and illegal logging, which Haik Sarksyan had raised during the meeting.
