The organization of such communications requires the willingness and political will of Washington, commented Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian President, regarding Trump's statements about plans to meet with Putin. “President Putin has repeatedly stated that he is open to discussions with international leaders, including the U.S. President and Donald Trump. No preconditions are required for this. There must be mutual desire and political will to conduct a dialogue and resolve existing issues through dialogue,” Peskov reminded.

It is noteworthy that today, newly elected U.S. President Donald Trump announced that Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed a desire to meet with him, and the parties are preparing for such a meeting. “Putin wants to meet, and we are organizing this,” Trump told reporters.
