In Armenia, Pensions Have Increased More in the Last 5 Years Than Ever Before, Says Pashinyan

We increase pensions every day, every month, every year. This was stated by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a government meeting.

“We are criticized for exploiting pensioners, for increasing their pensions due to shadow reduction and other factors,” he noted.

Pashinyan emphasized that for the establishment of the state, everyone should make an effort. “And there is nothing wrong with pensioners also making an effort,” he added.

He also mentioned that there is a communication problem. “One might say, ‘They didn't raise the pension again.’ Listen, in Armenia, pensions have never been increased as much in the last 5 years as they have been in these last 5 years. Go and look at history. For the first time in Armenian history, in 2022, the minimum pension is higher than the minimum food basket,” he stated.
