I Must Urinate in One Second and Lose My Human Face: Hayrapetyan

Minister of High-Tech Industry Mikayel Hayrapetyan stated during a year-end press conference on January 9 that people do not know Hakob Aslanyan well if they think he can be pressured.

“You clearly do not know him well. In any case, you are talking about a person who has participated in several wars. Now, don’t think that Hakob Aslanyan has strayed from my political team or betrayed, and that I should suddenly urinate in one second and lose my human face. You cannot imagine that we are talking about a person who, for reasons I do not know, is exhibiting such behavior, but has a past,” the minister said.

“Those who think they can intimidate and pressure him in this manner simply do not know him. I know him. It is another matter that there are several factors that maybe one day I will talk about, which do not reflect well on the whole story. But for now, I will refrain from that,” said the minister.

It is worth noting that later, on his social media page, Hakob Aslanyan published several screenshots, one of which featured the name of Minister Mikayel Hayrapetyan. Aslanyan pointed out that his statements during the interview were based on incorrect information and he continues to be a member of the 'Civil Contract' party and faction.

The spokesperson for the High-Tech Industry Minister, Karine Terteryan, responded, stating, “MP Hakob Aslanyan was Mikayel Hayrapetyan’s school teacher and joined the CP in 2016 through the minister. Aslanyan consulted with the minister today and asked for assistance regarding the text of his statement.”
