Trump Renounces Promise Not to Use Military Force

The newly elected President of the United States, Donald Trump, has renounced his promise not to use military force to take control of Greenland and the Panama Canal. This was reported by RIA Novosti.

“No, I cannot assure you. You’re talking about Panama and Greenland,” he said to reporters when asked to promise not to use military force for asserting control over the Panama Canal and Greenland.

The American leader had announced on December 22 that he would demand the swift return of the Panama Canal to American ownership due to high tolls for passage. The politician emphasized that the Panama Canal is extremely important for American trade, as well as for the operational deployment of U.S. naval forces in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.
