Catholicos Aram I Connects with Armenian Community in the U.S.
Catholicos Aram I of the Great House of Cilicia has established contact with His Eminence Archbishop Gegham Kacheryan, the leader of the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church in North America, to inquire about the consequences of the ongoing fire in Los Angeles and the situation of the local Armenian population.
“During the past hours, His Holiness Aram I, the Supreme Patriarch, reached out several times to His Eminence Archbishop Gegham Kacheryan to express his concern regarding the devastating fire that has erupted in Los Angeles. His Holiness took a special interest in the welfare of our community’s children and their homes. In this regard, the archbishop provided the Patriarch with necessary information,” reported the Armenian church's communication.
At this moment, powerful winds are contributing to the fire's expansion, despite the consistent and effective interventions by firefighting teams. The dreadful blaze is primarily spreading through the Armenian-populated areas of Pasadena, Glendale, and La Crescenta. According to reports, some Armenian families have already sought refuge in safer areas. Our churches have declared that their doors are open to all those wishing to find shelter there.
