VIDEO: How Many Cars Were Transferred to the Secured Special Area
From December 30 to January 7, during a service conducted in the capital, Yerevan traffic police identified 3,450 violations of traffic rules, transferring 196 cars to a secured special area. This information was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Specifically, there were 275 cases of driving under the influence, and 364 individuals were found driving without a valid driver's license. Additionally, violations included 21 related to registration plates, 599 for not wearing seatbelts, 251 for using tobacco products while driving, 109 for using a phone while driving, 112 for pedestrians crossing outside designated areas, and 1,086 other violations.
Furthermore, 136 vehicles were operated without a mandatory insurance contract, 246 had not passed technical inspection, 40 had malfunctioning external lighting devices, and 163 had tinted windshields and side windows. A total of 94 individuals were arrested on various charges during this time, according to reports from the police.
In the same timeframe, police in the provinces identified 11,955 traffic violations, transferring 326 vehicles to secured special areas. Among these, 310 were driving under the influence, and 716 were without a driver's license. Additionally, there were 65 violations related to registration plates, 2,074 for not wearing seatbelts, 249 for using tobacco while driving, 348 for using a phone while driving, 34 for pedestrians crossing outside designated areas, and 1,220 for speeding, along with 3,566 other violations.
Of the vehicles, 458 were operated without mandatory insurance contracts, 1,958 had not undergone technical inspection, 532 had malfunctioning external lighting devices (including 8 freight vehicles), and 192 had tinted windshields and side windows. Moreover, 47 individuals were arrested on various suspicions.
