Preparing for the New Tariff Unified Payment System

Dear residents of Yerevan, as you know, starting January 1, 2025, new tariffs that are part of the unified ticketing system will come into effect. This was announced by the press secretary of the Yerevan Mayor, Hayk Kostanyan.

“In order to make the transition as smooth as possible, until February 1, the opportunity to purchase tickets via the Telcell Wallet electronic wallet and Telcell payment terminals will remain, with the following tariffs: 100 drams for buses and the metro, and 50 drams for trolleybuses.”

To be prepared to use public transport services from February 1, we are informing you of the necessary steps to take starting today.

How to prepare for the new tariff unified payment system:

• You can learn about and choose the most affordable ticket packages for yourself and your relatives through the Transport.yerevan.am website.
• Check the availability of discounts by entering your public service number and date of birth.
• Purchase a new ticket package today, linking it to your physical bank or transport card that has contactless payment capability.

Before purchasing a ticket package, ensure that:

• The expiration date of the physical bank card you want to use for loading the ticket package does not expire before the ticket package's validity ends.
• The physical bank card supports contactless payments.

It is also important to note that payments made with Apple Pay or Google Pay do not activate the ticket packages, as they are only available on physical cards.

To purchase discounted ticket packages through the transport.yerevan.am website, it is necessary to:

• Register on the transport.yerevan.am website.
• Complete online identification.
• If you confirm your eligibility for a discounted group, tickets will be available at discounted prices.

For citizens who have difficulties accessing computers or mobile phones and are beneficiaries of the discount group, starting from January 8, 2025, service points of Telcell will be operational daily from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM (you can find the addresses on the transport.yerevan.am website).

Through these service points, you can:

• Acquire a transport card.
• Go through personal identification for checking discount eligibility.
• If confirmed eligibility is established, purchase a ticket package linked to a physical contactless payment-enabled bank or transport card.

To buy a discounted ticket, it is necessary to approach the service points with an identification document and public service number.

When acquiring a transport card, a 500 drams security deposit is required. This amount can be refunded upon returning the card. Returns must be made at Telcell service points.

Please also consider that a new transport card will become active within 3 hours of linking a ticket package.

We kindly request and urge those who are capable of acquiring the packages online, with or without assistance, to show consideration for citizens who cannot do so and to avoid overloading service offices to prevent the formation of queues.

Additionally, we will inform you that soon the services for discounted groups will also be implemented in administrative district offices (municipalities), with further details to be announced.

In the coming days, we will also announce the methods for individuals without discounts to acquire new ticket packages.
