Found in a Mentally Unstable Condition: Clarification from Armavir Penitentiary
The Armenian Penitentiary Service has reported the circumstances under which S. M., an inmate at the Armavir Penitentiary, and H. P., a convict at the Prison Hospital, inflicted injuries on themselves.
According to the penitentiary service, inmate S. M. was found in a mentally unstable condition. "S. M. received medical assistance on-site, after which an ambulance was called and he was transferred to the Echmiadzin Medical Center. Around 20:30, he was moved to the 1st University Medical Center. After receiving appropriate medical care, he was returned to the penitentiary facility at approximately 22:40 on the same day,” the statement reads.
Convict H. P. also verbally reported that he had harmed himself due to inability to cope with pain in the chest area. He was provided with medical assistance on-site, and an ambulance was called. At around 14:10, he was taken to the city hospital, received the necessary medical care, and was subsequently returned to the penitentiary facility.
It is noteworthy that both incidents occurred on January 6. S. M., an inmate at the Republic of Armenia's Armavir Penitentiary, cut his tongue with a razor at approximately 18:20. Meanwhile, H. P. at the Prison Hospital also inflicted self-harm using a razor on his left forearm.
