Details on the wildfire in the mountains near Agavnavanq and Dzoravank

The wildfire that broke out in the mountains near Agavnavanq in Tavush Province and Dzoravank in Gegharkunik Province has been extinguished as of January 6 at 13:24. The fire consumed grassland, shrubbery, debris, and dried trees. A total of 47 rescue workers are currently conducting mop-up operations, and a duty roster has been established.

On January 5 at around 08:00, the Ministry of Emergency Situations’ (MES) rescue service received information about the wildfire incident. A personnel call-up was announced for the MES's Gegharkunik and Tavush provincial units.

As of 14:55, 137 firefighters-rescuers have been deployed to the scene of the incident. Access routes for vehicles are unavailable, so the firefighters have continued on foot.

On site are senior officials from the MES, including MES Director and Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Kamov Tsutulyan, as well as Deputy Directors Colonel Tigran Petrosyan and Lieutenant Colonel Arthur Vardanyan.

Preliminary reports indicate that the fire was affecting grassland, shrubbery, debris, and dried trees. A helicopter from the Ministry of Defense has been involved in the firefighting efforts. The fire was contained at 15:32.
