Earthquake in Armenia
On January 6, 2025, at 17:28 local time, the seismic monitoring network of the Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations recorded an earthquake at a geographical coordinate of 39.96° north latitude and 45.49° east longitude, 22 km northwest of the town of Jermuk, at a depth of 10 km, with a magnitude of 3.1.
The intensity of the underground tremor in the epicentral zone reached 4 points on the scale. The earthquake was felt in the Vayots Dzor region, measuring 2-4 points, as well as in the towns of Vardenis in the Gegharkunik region and Sisian in the Syunik region, with an intensity of 2-3 points.
