South Korean Government Paralyzed, North Korean Media Reports

The government in the Republic of Korea is paralyzed due to a political confrontation between the ruling camp and the opposition, which involves the impeachment of President Yoon Seok-youl and Prime Minister Han Duck-soo. This assessment has been provided by the Korean Central News Agency (North Korea).

According to the North Korean state media, following the declaration of a state of emergency on December 3, an impeachment has been declared against the president for the first time in history, and an order for his arrest has been issued, resulting in a paralysis of the state's political system and further deepening the socio-political chaos.

The 'main rebel,' Yoon Seok-youl, is reportedly 'denying his guilt while spreading all kinds of lies.' The agency noted that the 'Civic Power' party, based on 'its own dirty interests, is forgiving the rebellion' and is attempting to turn the situation in favor of the ruling camp through impeachment in the Constitutional Court.

It was noted that the Constitutional Court could reinstate Yoon Seok-youl, but at least six out of nine votes are required to confirm the impeachment.

In response, the opposition is increasingly intensifying its political assault and pressure, hinting at the 'continuous impeachment' of all members of the State Council who may temporarily hold the presidential position if their demands are not met. The opposition, in particular, insists on the appointment of three judges to the vacant seats in the Constitutional Court.

On December 14, the parliament impeached the president for imposing a state of emergency in violation of the constitution, and on December 27, the powers of the acting prime minister were suspended. On December 31, the court made a decision to arrest the president, while the leadership of one of the security agencies announced that they would use the order until its expiration.
