Why the Archbishop's New Year Message Will Not Be Broadcasted

It has been revealed from the public television company’s New Year programming schedule that the message of His Holiness the Catholicos of All Armenians is scheduled to be broadcast on December 31 at 21:55.

It is important to note that there has been no discussion between the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and Public TV regarding the broadcast of the message. The television company continues to bypass the long-standing tradition of airing the New Year message from the Catholicos, ignoring the position of the Mother See and the demands and expectations of the faithful both in Armenia and the diaspora.

In light of the television company's approach, the Mother See believes it is inappropriate to broadcast the message of the Catholicos of All Armenians on Public TV's airwaves. The message of His Holiness will be broadcast by available media outlets on New Year’s Eve, at the same time established by tradition in previous years.
