Zourabichvili Calls for New Elections
The President of Georgia, Salome Zourabichvili, has reiterated the necessity for new parliamentary elections. She emphasized that the voting day should be agreed upon by December 29. This date marks the end of Zourabichvili's term, while the "Georgian Dream" party plans to hold the inauguration ceremony for the newly elected president Mikheil Kavelashvili.
Zourabichvili reaffirmed her willingness to meet with Bidzina Ivanishvili, the honorary president of "Georgian Dream." "To ensure everything ends well in the country, let him come to the (presidential) palace, as he controls everything. I am ready to sit down and discuss with him how the elections should be scheduled," the acting president stated during a meeting with attendees on Rustaveli Avenue in Tbilisi.
