A Complicated Situation Has Arisen, Says Peskov
Russian President Vladimir Putin and Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico discussed bilateral relations and energy-related matters during their negotiations held at the Kremlin. This was reported by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of Russia.
“Yesterday, the talks between Putin and Fico took place. They also spoke about issues related to energy and gas. It was quite a detailed conversation,” Peskov told reporters.
The issue of energy supplies to Slovakia requires additional attention, Peskov stated in response to a question about whether Russia can continue gas supplies to Slovakia after the expiration of the transit contract with Ukraine. “You must have heard the statement from the Ukrainian side and are aware of the positions of European countries that continue to buy Russian gas and consider it necessary for the normal functioning of their economies. Therefore, a complicated situation has arisen here that requires significant attention,” Peskov said.
