Azerbaijan Proposes Cooperation to Armenia
The Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan has proposed cooperation to the relevant authorities of Armenia regarding the criminal case against former military-political leaders of Nagorno-Karabakh, who are currently under arrest in Baku. "Guided by serious reasons for the presence of numerous suspects and witnesses within the territory of Armenia in this investigation, the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan invites the competent authorities of Armenia to cooperate," the statement reads.
Earlier reports indicated that the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan had also announced that the criminal case against the former military-political leaders of occupied Nagorno-Karabakh had been sent to the military court of Baku. Criminal charges have been brought against 15 former military-political leaders of the occupied Nagorno-Karabakh Republic.
These individuals were illegally detained and taken to Baku as a result of the mass military aggression that Azerbaijan carried out against the Republic of Artsakh in September 2023. They are accused of terrorism, financing terrorism, creating armed formations and groups not provided by law, and conducting training for terrorist purposes.
Currently, former presidents Arkadi Ghukasyan, Bako Sahakyan, and Arayik Harutyunyan, as well as the Speaker of the National Assembly David Ishkhanian, former Foreign Minister David Babayan, former commander of the Defense Army Levon Mnatsakanyan, former State Minister Ruben Vardanyan, and former Chief of the General Staff David Manukyan are being held illegally in Baku.
